  • Supervise a team of Family Advocates in the related program components for Head Start;
  • Schedule and conduct regular case conferences and attend regular staff meetings;
  • Help maintain and distribute case load in absence of family advocates;
  • Oversee and review the case management work to ensure: meetings with families are identifying family strengths to help in meeting those needs, and providing resource and referrals to meet comprehensive family services in accordance with the Family Needs Assessment and Individualized Family Partnership Agreement and the appropriate follow-up is made by the Family Advocates;
  • Oversee contact documentation on all families through S.O.A.P. charting;
  • Assist with the Enrollment/In-take Process for Head Start  and State applications;
  • Oversee and conduct Family Needs Assessments and help families in developing an Individualized Family Partnership Agreement, including appropriate follow-up;
  • Coordinate with child care partners to ensure compliance in eligibility process;
  • Coordinate and track the provision of Mental Health Services;
  • Help maintain and distribute case load in absence of advocate;
  • Partner with Site Directors, Education and Disabilities Coordinator, Health and Nutrition Coordinator;
  • Work in interdisciplinary/cross service area team to meet the needs of children with metal health conditions;
  • Maintain compliance with state, federal, and local health regulations ;
  • Attend regular HS and EHS meetings ;
  • Prepare monthly, periodic and annual reports;
  • Attend professional conferences as necessary;
  • Serve as an advocate for families when it is difficult to access or obtain mental health services;
  • Plan and coordinate social service activities and services;
  • Review and evaluate the case management services;
  • Maintain compliance in ERSEA;
  • Oversee Head Start and CSPP/CCTR application process and monitoring
  • Provide reflective supervision and training to family advocates;
  • Attend bi-weekly management meetings;
  • Other duties as assigned




  • BA/BS degree or higher degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social welfare or related field;
  • Two or more years of experience working with children and families in a child development/child care, health or social services setting, including supervisory experience. Strongly prefer experience in a multi-site program and knowledge of child care practices and licensing regulations;
  • Knowledge of relevant family community resources;
  •  Ability to understand and use a variety of computer applications and appropriate software, spreadsheets and word processing, such as Microsoft Office and workplace electronic technology, including internet access, networking, and e-mail.
  • Bilingual Spanish /English;
  • Possession of a valid California drivers' license; current personal vehicle insurance, or safe driving record sufficient to ensure insurability through Agency policy;
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Physical ability to sit with children on their level, lift infants, toddlers, and occasionally preschoolers. Commitment to utilize safe lifting techniques for lifting children, supplies and furnishings;
