Position:

 

Home Visitor position available for the Home Base Program in Glenn County with office location in Orland.  Program provides in-home services to families with children prenatal to age five.

 

Salary:

 

$118.16 – $129.11 per 8hr day with full benefit package

 

Desired

Qualifications:

  • § High School Diploma/GED
  • § Hold/qualify for a Child Development Associate Teacher Permit (12 semester units of course work in early childhood education or child development, including at least one course of three (3) semester units in each of the following core areas: Child/human growth and development, Child, Family, and Community or Child and Family Relations, and Program/Curriculum), three (3) infant/ toddler units, and six (6) total units in a Human Service field.
  • § Two years of experience working directly with children and families
  • § Must have a valid California Driver’s license and insured reliable transportation

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

  • Support and guide parents to be their child’s “First Teacher” utilizing the evidence based curricula Partners for a Healthy Baby & Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers, and Twos.
  • Conduct weekly one-and-a-half-hour home visits with enrolled families
  • Plan and provide twice a month play group (Socialization) experiences for enrolled families
  • Support families to set and achieve family goals building safety and stability for their family.
  • Support families in accessing services and resources within the community.
  • Complete developmental screener(s) and support parents in assisting with observations of child growth and development.
  • Provide an individualized curriculum to meet the needs of enrolled children and families
  • Maintain accurate and complete records and documentation
  • Support parents to be involved in all components of the Early Head Start/Head Start and/or CAPIT programs
  • Collaborate with social workers and social services division to provide seamless services to CAPIT families

Work Year:

 

Year-round (July-June) 228 paid day.  Position to begin July/August 2018.

Glenn County Office of Education oversees and administers all early care and education funds through Child and Family Services (CaFS) for Glenn County with the exception of a single State Preschool contract and Migrant Head Start program. In the 2016 to 2017 program year, 260 children were enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start programs, 5 preschoolers attended our State Preschool programs, 258 CalWorks Perinatal Child Care program participants and approximately 475 children participated in subsidized child care offered through our Child Care Resource Referral and Payment Program.  All Head Start services are provided at no cost to families.
