Part Time Education Coach will work closely with current Education coaches to provide intensive coaching to targeted sites. The role of the Education Coach is to support in building capacity for specific professional competencies practice based coaching focused on goal setting and achievement for an individual or group. Additionally, the person in this position will ensure that internal assessments for the CLASS and ERS are conducted throughout the program year.


Primary Duties:

  • Coach and provide support to the teaching staff in the Head Start/Early Head Start classrooms.
  • Work collaboratively with the Site Supervisor/Master Teacher toward achieving or exceeding the Head Start/Early Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS) along with Licensing and State regulations.
  • Conduct internal CLASS assessments in each Preschool classroom a minimum of 2 times every program year.
  • Develop written CLASS reports in a timely manner.
  • Communicate findings effectively with the teaching staff and site supervisor of sites.
  • Meet regularly with teaching staff after coaching sessions for feedback meetings to provide best practices strategies, resources, and suggestions.
  • Support the teaching staff through coaching & feedback in utilizing the Soy Bilingue Teacher- Model strategy to support language acquisition for all children.
  • Work with the teaching staff to develop and maintain a culturally diverse, inclusive and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
  • Work with the Disabilities & Mental Health Manager to support teaching staff with the implementation and maintenance of the CA Teaching Pyramid strategies.
  • Utilize appropriate databases to input documentation for required reporting.
  • Attend staff meetings as required
  • Assist in planning and participate in the annual self-assessment and pre-service
  • Participate in community coaching meetings/trainings.




  • BA Degree required in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, Social Sciences or related field plus 24 units in ECE and 12 units of core Child Development courses.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.



  • 3+ years of providing direct delivery of coaching/training services to teachers
  • 3+ years of teaching experience
  • 3+ years community-based experience in a setting working with families and community organizations who have experienced poverty, crisis, trauma, and other adverse events.
  • Program for Infant Toddler Care (PITC) experience.
  • CLASS reliable



  • English, Spanish preferred
