Hourly: $21.37 - $23.35*
*+2% Bilingual Enhancement and/or +8% Tahoe Basin

Summary:
The Home Visitor assumes primary responsibility for supporting parents/guardians in the home with family engagement, health services, child development and accessing family service resources by connecting them to their community. The Home Visitor maintains complete confidentiality when working with families as outlined in KidZCommunity’s Confidentiality Agreement.
Reporting Requirements:
The Home Visitor is directly supervised by the Home Based Supervisor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates within the KidZCommunity vision/mission/values
- Operates from the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct
- Follows the Head Start Performance Standards & Title 5
- Follows the personnel policies & procedures
- Operates within the KidZCommunity health & safety policies & procedures (ie timely health & safety daily checklist)
- KidZCommunity Operations Manual and home visitor handbook
- Understands and operates using Equity Practices including cultural and family beliefs
- Follows agency timelines
- Uses the Three R's curriculum/understands curriculum fidelity: including parents in curriculum planning
- Uses knowledge of family dynamics and positive guidance techniques when working with families
- Maintenance of health and medical records
- Uses curriculum enhancements
- Observes and does the record keeping for DRDP Assessments
- Works with parents for ASQ and ASQ-SE
- Plans and executes socializations, including food, developmentally appropriate activities, parent engagement and environments, including modifications for children with disabilities
- Creates individual child development plans
- Maintains children's files
- Uses the school readiness goals for planning
- Follows the DS1 process
- Knows what resources are available in the local area and links families to the resources they need
- Interacts with children, families, and staff appropriately
- Provides parents with information to gain understanding of how to advocate for their children's needs.
- Works with families on goal setting, needs assessment and family partnership agreement
- Conducts weekly home visits in which families learn about activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development
- Creates transition Plans
- Follows the PITC philosophy
- Attends scheduled monthly case management, reflective supervision and home visitor support groups
- Actively recruits parent delegates for PC and committees
- Understands the concepts of basic nutrition; socialization food includes ethnic and cultural preferences
- Ensures all required data is entered into ChildPlus.net, including attendance, ASQ/ASQ-SE, home visits, health information and any other information relevant to the child and family

Experience:
Head Start and social services experience desirable
Education and Permits:
- 24 ECE, including 12 units core courses, 6 units infant toddler, 6 units other ECE; and 16 units GE; and 6 units Psychology, Social Work or a related field.
- Credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field required within in 18 months of hire
- Continuous enrollment of at least three (3) units per semester to obtain an AA in ECE with 6 units infant toddler; and 12 units in Social Work or Psychology
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
- Physical Activity: Spend their time driving, standing, sitting, walking, stooping, crouching, crawling, lifting, bending, carrying or twisting; Ability to lift 35lbs.
- Use of Senses: Ability to articulate a normal conversation with normal hearing whether verbal or over the telephone. Normal vision corrected if necessary.
- Environmental Conditions: The duties of this position are usually performed in the home of the Head Start family. Conditions may vary.
- Atmospheric Conditions: Vary depending on the home of the Head Start family.
Other Requirements:
Department of Justice Fingerprint and child abuse index clearance.
- Post-offer physical examination; TB clearance; proof of immunization or immunity to pertussis and measles; and annual flu vaccination or signed declination.
- Valid Class C driver’s license, readily available and reliable transportation and minimum vehicle insurance as required by state law.
- Satisfactory motor vehicle record.
