Description

This is a new position in our expanding Family and Community Services Department. The Assistant Director will implement high quality content area systems, including, but not limited to: family child care, resource and referral, subsidy, family resource center, workforce; and ensurie that the department is in compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards, including State of California CDE, CDSS, State licensing regulations; City and County of San Francisco; and other funders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Supports the department to hire, motivate, and train staff to increase their professional development to align with program goals for each program.
  • Participates with parents, staff, FCS Managers, Director FCS, CFOO, and CEO, in the creation and implementation of department goals and vision.
  • Coaches and Supervises, as assigned FCS managers and staff, to ensure that the development of the content areas align and enhance support services for children and families served by the Department.
  • Supports funder guidelines and enrollment procedures for all service areas, ensuring accurate and efficient implementation.
  • Cultivates and sustains relationships with funders and community partners to support organizational goals.
  • Works closely with management staff throughout the Wu Yee system of services.
  • Supports the Director of Family and Community Services in order to ensure that all contract compliances are met and that program is grounded in all pertinent laws, guidelines and policies including State Licensing regulations, State Funding Terms and Conditions, SF City and County Funding Terms and Conditions, and the requirements of any funders.
  • Works with other agency programs to collaborate on family and provider services.
  • Supports the on-going monitoring of programs to ensure compliance.
  • Manages special projects consistent with Wu Yee’s strategic clarity and as assigned by the Director of Family and Community Services.
  • Encourages and helps facilitate the professional development of all DCFS management and staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Care and Education, Public Administration, Family Services, or related field, required.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • Possess a minimum of 3 -5 years experience as a supervisor/manager.
  • Possess strong understanding of State and local regulations and experience drafting procedures that comply with policies from funders
  • Experience working with government agencies, private funders and programs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with and quickly gain the respect and support of various constituencies, including staff members, funders, internal and external partners.
  • Track record as an effective communicator; highly skilled in writing and speaking; the ability to communicate the department’s mission and interests to varied audiences internally and externally.
  • Knowledge of child care and family support, San Francisco community resources.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Web.
  • Abilty to work occassional nights and evenings for community or agency events. 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

  • Salary Range $118,000 to 120,000 annually, Full-time, exempt position.
